You have a right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” detailing how much your medical care will cost you.

Under the law, health care providers must provide an estimate of the medical bill for services to patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance.

• You have a right to request a Good Faith Estimate for the expected cost of your non-emergency services.
• Receive a Good Faith Estimate from your health care provider, in writing, at lease one day prior to services.
• If you receive a medical bill greater than $400 than your Good Faith Estimate, you may dispute this.
• Save a copy of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
